Epson CSR Philosophy
Epson seeks to coexist harmoniously with the society through its community-based activities in all the countries in which it operates. Each Epson employee is taught that a high level of community awareness is demanded of companies. Epson & its employees are committed corporate citizens aiming to contribute to the benefit of society. Epson has outlined five priority areas for ongoing active engagement: Education for young people, culture & the arts, community events, environmental conservation and social welfare. By following the above global philosophy, Epson India will continue its CSR activities & also make sure that it complies with the requirement of the Indian Companies Act. Epson India is committed to carry out the following CSR activities
- Promotion of education
- Provide clean drinking water
- Anti-Tobacco campaign
- Encouraging arts and culture
- Supporting community events
- Conservation of the environment
Epson India also aims to carry out
Social welfare including contribution to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund or any other fund set up by the central government or the state governments aimed at socio-economic development, relief and funds for the welfare of the scheduled castes, the scheduled tribes, other backward classes, minorities and women. Matters such as these may be decided by the CSR Committee from time to time.
India Literacy Project (ILP)
In association with the India Literacy Project (ILP), Epson India is implementing Multi-Dimension Learning Spaces (MDLS) in various schools in Karnataka. Under the project, Epson is:
- Setting up Smart Classrooms
- Providing schools with starter Science Kits
- Setting up libraries in schools
- Providing students with career counselling for students of Grade 9 and 10
- Providing support for the implementation of on-ground projects
Anti-Tobacco Campaign
In Association with Sambandh Health Foundation (SHL), Epson India is supporting the Tobacco Free Youth campaign across Karnataka, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh (which are the highest affected states due to Tobacco). The campaign has reached 175,000 students across 10,000 schools and colleges during 2021-22. The objective is to raise awareness about the harmful effects of Tobacco in order to help reduce the consumption rates and ensure a longer life.
Delivering clean drinking water
Epson aims to enhance the health of communities by facilitating the availability of clean drinking water in schools. 49 schools in Karnataka’s Kolar district have been equipped with state-of-the-art water filters in FY22.
Enriching Communities
The Good Harvest School is an agriculture-based school for rural girls in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district. A noble initiative aimed at ensuring quality education for rural girls and to help them pursue their aspirations. Epson donated 2 projectors and an EcoTank printer to the Good Harvest School - to help unlock their creative potential and cultivate critical skills to set them on the path for great things to come.
Covid-19 Relief
Epson contributed INR 27 lakhs for 25 Oxygen Concentrators to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) / International Association for Human Values (IAHV) for the fight against COVID-19 in Delhi and Bangalore. Epson has also donated INR 119 lakhs to the PM Cares fund.
Vastra Drive
In the last CSR drive, Epson India collected clean clothes, toys and shoes from its employees across India. The mission was to bring a smile and provide comfort to the less-fortunate. Epson India teamed up with R. K. Foundation and Global Concerns to ensure this was achieved with Epson's signature care.
