Epson PrecisionCoreTM Printhead

At the heart of PrecisionCoreTM printhead is our next generation thin-film piezo (TFP) technology that Epson uses in our commercial large format printers. The Micro TFP PrecisionCoreTM printhead print chip offers vastly improved print speeds, better precision, better output quality and excellent durability, as compared to conventional piezo printheads.

Speed and Precision

The PrecisionCoreTM printhead allows for ultra-fast print speeds, with the ability to fire precise drops of ink, at a rate of up to 50,000 times a second per nozzle, and as small as 1.5 picoliters, delivering incredible speed and unbeatable image quality.


PrecisionCoreTM printhead gives Epson immense flexibility to develop various ink formulations that can achieve superior print durability, which is critical for applications ranging from office paperwork and industrial labels to vehicle wraps that must last several years, and to garments, you may wash hundreds of times.


The PrecisionCoreTM printhead utilises piezo elements to mechanically eject the ink. This heatless technology prolongs printhead longevity, providing reliable long-term operation. Meanwhile, the technology’s ability to self-diagnose its own capabilities allows it to continually sustain the system with minimal maintenance downtime.

UltraChrome XD2 Pigment Ink

With an improved formulation that works especially well with plain paper and special media such as tracing paper, the UltraChrome XD2 pigment ink delivers accurate and sharp line printing that is suitable for vector images or luster data. The all-pigment ink achieves less bleed-through and is better at withstanding the harsh weather conditions compared to dye-inks. Additionally, the T3430 and T5430 printers support borderless printing.
